18 Apr 10 De Villiers Ave
At 21:29 a KNI Member from De Villiers Ave contacted the KNI Control Room to report four black males looking through her windows and trying to gain access to the house. When the suspects saw people inside the house they fled. KNI Armed Response and Durbanville SAPS were dispatched. KNI Armed Response reported that the SAPS searched the area but did not locate the perpetrators. The KNI Member was contacted by the KNI Control Centre and spoke to the daughter who confirmed all was ok, no one was hurt and was very thankful for the quick response. The search for the suspects continued.
18 Apr 10 Kenridge Ave
At 14:40 a KNI Member in Kenridge Ave contacted the KNI Control Centre and reported that a coloured male was knocking on the door and was adamant to sell goods. Another coloured male came from the back of the house to the front, walking past the KNI Member and acknowledged her. There was an off white Toyota bakkie, without a canopy, registration number CK 10319, parked in front of her house. The males climbed into the bakkie and drove towards Upper Kenridge Ave. KNI Armed Response were despatched and on arrival KNI Armed Response stopped the vehicle and instructed the males to depart from the area. They left the area.
18 Apr 10 Kenridge Ave
At 23:02 a KNI Member in Kenridge Ave pushed his panic button. KNI Armed Response were immediately dispatched. The KNI Member informed the controller he heard people shouting at a house in Tafelberg Road, a NON Members residence. KNI Armed Response reported on arrival at the NON Members home in Tafelberg Ave that ADT and SAPS were on the scene and statements were taken. Undisclosed valuables were stolen, no one was hurt. The ADT Response informed the KNI Armed Response that three black males burgled the residence and fled. A search was continued.
18 Apr 10 Phesantekraal St
At 00:15 a KNI Member from Phesantekraal St contacted the KNI Control Room and reported vagrants making a noise in the field and requested KNI Armed Response to investigate. The KNI Control Room informed the Durbanville Police Station. KNI Armed Response instructed the vagrants to remove themselves from the area.
18 Apr 10 Tygervalley Rd
At 18:25 KNI Armed Response reported to the KNI Control Centre that on the corner of van Riebeeck, Hof and Tygervalley Road vagrants are intimidating and threatening motorists and by passers with a stick. SAPS were dispatched and arrived at 18:38. SAPS confiscated the stick and removed them out of the area.
18 Apr 10 Van Der Stel Ave
At 22:25 KNI Armed Response reported to the KNI Control Room that a NON Member stopped him and informed him that there was a positive break in at a NON Members home in Van Der Stel Ave. On arrival KNI Armed Response reported that ADT and SAPS were at the scene and statements were taken.
17 Apr 10 De Villiers Ave
At 01:50 KNI Armed Response reported an open driveway gate at a KNI Members home in De Villiers Avenue. The KNI Control Centre contacted the client on their cell phone and land line, there was no reply. KNI Armed Response patrolled the area and found all was in order.
17 Apr 10 Diemersdal and Ongegund Streets
At 17:15 a KNI Member from Ongegund Street phoned the KNI Control Room and requested KNI Armed Response. The complaint was about two people, with an OK trolley, knocking on the residents homes and begging. KNI Armed Response found the two people in Diemersdal Road and searched them. They were escorted out of the area.
17 Apr 10 Glen Way
At 13h41 KNI Armed Response arrived at a house in Glen Way as the KNI Control Room received a panic code. They found a gentleman outside the KNI Member's home, who informed the KNI Armed Response that the owner of the premises (the KNI Member) has a toolbox of his and that he did not want to return it. KNI Armed Response requested the Control Room to contact the KNI Member and to ask what he is going to do. The KNI Member responded that he will return the toolbox to its rightful owner and not to the gentleman outside his house. The rightful owner received the toolbox at the end of the day.
17 Apr 10 Kenridge Ave
At 11:25 a KNI Member from Kenridge Ave contacted the KNI Control Centre and reported a suspicious vagrant staring at the houses. KNI Armed Response were dispatched and patrolled the area . The vagrant was no where to be found.
